Triple Eclipse

In the next 30 days we will witness a rare astronomical event - a series of triple eclipses which starts on 7 July 2009 with a penumbral lunar eclipse, followed by a total solar eclipse on 22 July and thereafter a lunar eclipse on 6 August.

The eclipse tomorrow will take place from 5:28 am until 10:42 am (IST time). Sangeeta Didi has advised us to observe a fast by not eating or drinking anything at this time. If you can, meditate at this time or chant Om Namah Shivaya.

The first recorded triple eclipse in 3067 BC coincided with the Kurukshetra war in which 4.7 million people took part. The destruction of the city of Dwarka coincided with another set of triple eclipse in 3031 BC. More recently, the first half of the 20th century saw the occurrence of a series of triple eclipses between 1910 and 1945, which coincided with World Wars I & II, the Holocaust and the nuclear bombings in Japan!

Commenting on the triple eclipse, Guruji said
"It's a phenomenon in the world. It could be very good or very bad - either things could be very much better or go back to worst. This is the effect of the triple eclipse that is happening now. From now on to 2016, there will be many phenomena happening. He also said "Everything in this world is connected. Everything affects everything else. The microcosm and the macrocosm are all interconnected. An analysis of this principle of cause and effect will open a new dimension in life."

'While Astronomy/Astrology studies the science of happenings, spirituality is the remedy. While Astronomy / Astrology indicates the powerlessness of human beings, spirituality brings to light the power within', said Guruji. Earlier in Stockholm, He mentioned that it is significant to meditate and to do sadhana "at this time of the year. When you're meditating, we're doing so much good to society, to the world around. It generates and releases ions in the environment and it is these ions that effect thinking, mind, spirit and body, the environment in the universe. It is very important, very precious - not only for us, but also for the world around..Singing bhajans, and meditation create a positive impact. It is very good for nature, and for the environment" .

Guru Purnima provides the ideal time to take stock of how well we progressed due to the Grace of the Master and his teachings. Let us assist him in any way we can to help create a violence free, stress free world. During this time we need to take full responsibility for ourselves as well as the planet.

Love your Self, love the planet, love all the Souls around you.
