CHENNAI: Amid tight security arrangements, the body of Muthukumar, 26, who committed suicide in protest against the massacre of Tamils in Sri Lanka on Thursday was cremated at the Moolakothalam burial ground here late on Saturday night.Anger,frustration,fury,annoyance,rage,vehemence everything is in the air! Some people read the news, talk about it and probably discuss about it! Some people just carry on with their job! A few people really have the desire to make some change! A very few people have the guts to do it! Most of them choose to take weapons! But a Lot of YES!+ Youth are joining together to meditate and restore peace in the atmosphere!!
Hundreds of youths belonging to various colleges, Tamil organisations and the Radical Students` Youth Federation took part in the funeral procession that started from Kolathur and took more than four hours to reach the burial ground.
The `Sri Lankan Tamils Protection Movement` has called a general strike on February 4 as part of its efforts at stopping the war.
