Nathan Narrates

Jai Gurudev!

It all started on a breezy saturday evening. I was in besant nagar beach with my college guys after a long time and tring tring.....

Nathan - Hello

Karpagavalli - Hi Nathan

Nathan - Hey, hi. Wow long time.

KK - Yes -how are you? what you doing? (blah blah)

NN- Fine. Besantnagar. (blah, blah)

KK- more blah blah later - remembe the yes+ we were chatting a while ago?

NN-Yes

KK - it is starting day after tomm in Chennai. I want you to do it.

NN- Huh?well - I dont know. I have work in the night timings this coming week. so it will be difficult.

KK- Ok, think about it, I will call you tonight

NN - Ok. :) Bye.

After few hours ........she promptly called and we chatted for about 15 mins, where all of my valid reasons for not being able to do it now were couuntered with suggestions on how to do yes+ and work as well. I liked yes+ and wanted to do it and hence almost said yes - but didnt :D

Sunday morning.

NN - Hi Karpagavalli - I will do it. But I cant transfer the money now, but will do tomorrow.

KK- no you can't you have to give now. come to Mylapore and give.

NN- Crazy kya? I will not do that now.

KK- ok Im going to put money from my hand - pay me tomm

NN - Oh ok.

A pouring monday afternoon. 4 pm - I start from my place in Nanganallur and go through pot holed Madipakkam, Velachery, Taramani to reach Tvmyr after a hour. I was surprised to see that all the people who had registered had turned up despite the pouring rain. told myself - lets see if I can show my face here tom.

I was greeted by Sabarish. And, after him I saw the mighty Anil. I thought to myself - OOPS, strong guys around.

And, in came Kavitha Rajesh - Ma'm. I was keeping myself quiet, since new place and stuff. And, by the end of the first day, we were made as group and my group was dog and the dog group leader was a girl named Priya. And, gosh, she was one heck of a person, who kept us on our toes all through the course - I was completely taken aback by her energy and enthusiasm. And, her SMSing during the off hours of yes+ days was something that I was getting little too much to handle. And, there were too many - volunteers, namely Vidya, KK, Sreya, Ish, and many more who were at their best demeanor and it was all impressive. I didnt need anybody to tell me to come for all days - for I liked the Yes+ the first day itself.

And, there was this task master before the arrival of Kavi didi everyday - his name was Ashwani, dressed in pure white kurta, I mistook him for a person who was doing his apprenticeship to be the next teacher and being trained by Kavi. He was such a good impersonator.

Some of my discussion with Kavi (now didi, back then Ma'm :D) were quite contesting what she was telling in yes+ - but I liked what was being told to me :). And, Kriya - the first time is the best time which keeps you coming on, even after 2 and half years now :D. I was waiting for that to be over - it was at one point too much for my body to handle or was I dumping all of my bodily emotions and other things in the first kriya session itself??

It has to be said - it was a wonderful seven days - I had fun, good practices pushed down my throat and mind, good interaction with new people, some of them have become so much part of my life now. And, that was one of the most successful yes+ and probably is one of the best yes+ of chennai - for so many of today's volunteers came from that one workshop alone.

Me, Harshini, Muthu,Shamla, Prabhu, Gautham (for a while) and it was a blast for that one week.

I would like to taket this moment to thank all those volunteers who made that yes+ possible - for that opened up lot more doors in my life :)

I would like to quote what my team mate in work said during the fourth day of the work shop, when I went to work after finishing yes+. He said " What are you doing man, from where are you coming? you look so sweaty, tired, but visibly more energetic. what is happenning?

He ended up doing yes+ (partly) with Kavi, came for 1st day of Chennai Utsav, attented Blore Utsav :) - and, I never even gave an intro talk to him. :)

Love,
Nathan

JGD!

Finally!

Was it raining the 1st day? wow. I don't remember that. Before the course itself you made it rain...:)

I do remember all my taskmastership :) and the games and dancing without a care on 'Mitwa' the last day and the end of course volunteers meet along with the youngest volunteer - Sarveshwar! :)

It was an amazing course for all of us! And I think just after few days of course we all went for Chak De India! :)

V nicely written!1 Chocolate for you (out of several that You'll bring for us from US!) :)
